The US dollar rose and WTI fell below $40 a barrel

 International oil prices fell to their lowest level since July 9, and the WTI settlement price fell below $40 a barrel for the first time since July 9 due to concerns about the demand outlook, the decline of US stock market and the strengthening of the US dollar exchange rate. On Friday (September 4), the settlement price of West Texas light oil in October 2020 on the New York Mercantile futures exchange was $39.77, down $1.60, or 3.9%, from the previous trading day, with a trading range of 39.35-41.87; the settlement price of Brent crude oil for November 2020 on the London intercontinental exchange was $42.66, down $1.41, or 3.2%, from the previous trading day, with a trading range of 42.30 -$44.54.
