 China is the world's largest consumer of petroleum coke. The growth rate of demand in various downstream fields has increased, and the supply-demand gap in the domestic market has been continuously narrowing. External sources have become one of the main components of the supply of petroleum coke. From 2021 to 2025, the consumption of petroleum coke has consistently exceeded the annual domestic production, and the supply gap in the Chinese petroleum coke market has persisted. According to customs statistics, the import volume of petroleum coke in 2025 will reach 15.36 million tons, an increase of 2.05 million tons compared to the previous year, representing a growth rate of 15.36%. The monthly import volume of petroleum coke will remain between 900,000 and 1.83 million tons, and compared to 2024, it will mostly show positive growth.
